1 Dead in Wrong-Way Crash on US 60 [Tempe, AZ]

Tempe, AZ (February 16, 2026) – A person was killed and another sustained serious injuries following a wrong-way crash on US 60 early Sunday morning.

It was past 1 a.m. when the deadly vehicle crash happened on the westbound freeway near Broadway Road.

Troopers said they received reports of a wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of the SR 143. 

Minutes later, the authorities then received reports of the head-on crash on the involving the wrong-way driver.

Responding officers declared one person deceased at the scene.

Moreover, the paramedics rushed a person with serious injuries was rushed to the hospital.

Officers are still investigating this deadly crash.
