Bicyclist Dies in Drive Hit-and-Run Crash Near Veterans Memorial Drive [Harris County, TX]

Harris County, TX (July 2, 2025) – A male bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Veterans Memorial Drive Tuesday night.

It was around 10:50 p.m. when the officers responded to the fatal crash near 10201 Veterans Memorial Drive.

Responding officers learned that a man and a woman were struck by vehicles while riding their bicycles. Both of them were rushed by ambulance to an area hospital. 

Sadly, the man was declared dead shortly after arrival, while the woman was underwent surgery in serious condition.

Moreover, investigators discovered that the pair were first struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped and cooperated with the investigations. According to the accident report, the driver did not show signs of intoxication, and no charges have been filed.

Later on, the bicyclists were hit by another vehicle and the driver fled the scene. 

Police are seeking information about the hit-and-run driver and ask anyone with details on the collision or the second vehicle to contact HCSO.
