Police Investigate Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35E in Dallas

DALLAS, TX (May 21, 2026)— One person was hospitalized early Thursday after a three-vehicle crash on  Interstate 35E involving an 18-wheeler.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, emergency crews responded to the crash shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35E near the Royal Lane exit.

WFAA crews at the scene reported that one of the vehicles involved became wedged underneath the 18-wheeler after the collision.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said one person was transported to a hospital for treatment. Officials have not released the victim’s condition.

The crash forced authorities to close four southbound lanes while crews responded, investigated the scene, and worked to remove the damaged vehicles.

Officials later reopened Interstate 35E.

Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the crash or whether any citations were issued.

The collision remains under investigation.
