Injuries Reported in East Hollywood Multi-Vehicle Accident on 101 Freeway near Vermont Avenue

EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA (January 14, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a startling 3-vehicle crash on 101 Freeway near Vermont Avenue sent 1 person to the hospital.

The incident involving three vehicles happened at about 5:15 a.m. on the northbound Hollywood 101 Freeway near the Vermont Avenue exit.

Fuel spilled from the truck, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart.

Video from the scene showed the truck beneath an overpass with fluid spread across multiple lanes. Traffic was diverted onto Vermont Avenue as crews responded, and northbound traffic backed up past the Harbor (110) Freeway to Cesar Chavez Avenue.

A SigAlert was issued. Stewart said a man in his mid-30s was taken to a hospital with a minor injury, while a 22-year-old man declined transport.

CHP reported that two lanes reopened around 8 a.m.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
