Injuries Reported in Park County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 285 near Fairplay

PARK COUNTY, CO (October 28, 2025) – Sunday night, a woman suffered injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash on Highway 285 near Fairplay.

The incident happened on Highway 285, 15 miles northeast of FairPlay.

Colorado State Patrol said a 40-year-old woman rolled her Toyota Tacoma on Highway 285 late Monday night. While she was standing on the roadside trying to wave down help, an oncoming vehicle struck her and drove off.

Troopers arrived around 11:45 p.m. and found the woman with serious injuries. She was airlifted to a local hospital, and her condition remains unknown as of Tuesday morning.

Investigators believe the hit-and-run vehicle is a black 2011–2014 Volvo S60 with temporary tags and possible damage to the passenger-side mirror.
