SCOTTSDALE, AZ (July 20, 2025) – Thursday afternoon, a disastrous 3-vehicle crash on Loop 101 near Shea Boulevard injured 1.

The incident involving three vehicles happened at about 1:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Loop 101 near Shea Boulevard.

Troopers confirmed that the crash resulted in a serious injury, with at least one person needing to be extricated from a vehicle.

The Department of Public Safety stated that the traffic backup resulted in a secondary collision, although no further details about that incident were provided. Southbound lanes, which had been closed due to the crashes, reopened shortly after 5:30 p.m. 

Traffic delays began near Raintree Drive.
