Driver Arrested in Aurora Avenue Speeding Crash
Seattle, WA (February 24, 2026) – A 28-year-old man sitting inside a Tesla was injured following a hit-and-run crash on Aurora Avenue Sunday night.
The multi-vehicle crash happened past 11 p.m. near N 107th Street.
Troopers said a 43-year-old Volkswagen driver was speeding south on Aurora and struck a Chevrolet.
The 66-year-old driver of the Chevrolet did not sustain injuries from the collision.
Afterward, the Volkswagen crossed into the northbound lanes, hit a power pole, shearing its base.
The Volkswagen rolled and struck a parked Tesla. The man inside the Tesla sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
A Volkswagen’s male passenger was freed from the car with serious injuries. Immediately, the Seattle Fire Department medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
Moreover, the Volkswagen’s driver fled on foot but was found a short distance away.
The authorities arrested the driver, who displayed signs of impairment and was evaluated by a drug recognition expert.
Police booked the driver into King County jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
