Injuries Reported in Cape Girardeau Auto Accident on Highway 74 near Dutchtown

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (July 3, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, a person suffered injuries in a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on Highway 74.

The incident occurred at about 12:13 p.m. on Highway 74, east of Dutchtown.

Troopers report that a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 74 had slowed down to make a turn when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The impact caused the lead vehicle to veer off the road and eject the driver.

One person was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

As a result of the crash, westbound Highway 74 was blocked on Wednesday afternoon, while authorities responded to the scene and conducted their investigation.
