1 Injured in Five-Car Crash on Interstate 90 [Mercer Island, WA]

Police Investigate Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 90 in Mercer Island

Mercer Island, WA (October 29, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 near Island Crest Way early Wednesday morning, according to officials from the Seattle Fire Department.

The crash occurred around 6:00 a.m., just before the off-ramp to Island Crest Way. 

Emergency crews responded quickly to reports of a person trapped inside one of the vehicles involved. Firefighters successfully extricated the individual from the wreckage. 

Officials later confirmed that the person was in stable condition.

All eastbound lanes of I-90 were blocked as firefighters, medics, and traffic officials worked to manage the scene and assist those involved. 

The roadway was fully cleared and reopened by 9:30 a.m.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
