Police Investigate Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 54 in Dalhart
DALHART, TX (November 26, 2025) — A crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck led to a fiery scene and one reported injury on Wednesday morning, just south of Dalhart, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident occurred on Highway 54, roughly two and a half miles west of CSS Potato Farm.
Authorities say the collision involved a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
Shortly after the impact, the passenger car caught fire. Fortunately, the driver managed to escape the vehicle before flames engulfed it.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, and Hartley County Emergency Management issued a public advisory urging drivers to avoid the area due to safety concerns and cleanup efforts.
The crash resulted in minor injuries, and DPS has since confirmed that the scene has been cleared and traffic has resumed.
