LUBBOCK, TX (May 10, 2026) – Saturday morning, a person sustained injuries in an alarming pedestrian crash on 19th Street near York.

The incident happened at about 7:47 a.m. on 19th Street, between York and Slide.

The Lubbock Police Department said its Major Crash Unit responded after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Officers found the victim with serious injuries. The person was transported to University Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.
