Police Investigate Crash on Mission Drive in Solvang

Solvang, CA (January 16, 2026) — A crash on Mission Drive involving a school bus and a Toyota RAV4 occurred Friday afternoon, prompting an investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. east of Alisal Road, according to the Buellton CHP office. 

Officers responded to the scene and found that a RAV4 had collided with a school bus carrying children. Thankfully, none of the children aboard the bus were injured.

Authorities confirmed that one individual reported pain following the crash, though the extent of the injuries has not been disclosed. 

CHP also indicated that a third vehicle may have been involved in the incident, but details remain under investigation.

Officials are urging anyone with information about the crash to contact the Buellton CHP office as the inquiry continues.
