Driver Dead, Passenger Injured After Crash on Interstate 55 

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (September 29, 2025) – A 21-year-old man died Sunday morning after a crash on Interstate 55.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 9:30 a.m. near mile marker 154. 

A Pontiac G5 was traveling southbound when it veered off the right side of the road, struck a rock bluff, and overturned.

Troopers confirmed that the 21-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His passenger, also 21, sustained serious injuries and was flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by MSHP.
