1 Dead in Riverside Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 215 near Cactus Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (August 25, 2026) – Sunday morning, a person died in a brutal 3-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 near Cactus Avenue.

The incident happened at around 3:40 a.m. in the southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 215 near Cactus Avenue.

A vehicle overturned onto its side near the center divider following the crash, according to a report to the California Highway Patrol. Another vehicle was found in the northbound lanes, with one person reported on the ground.

A representative from the Riverside County coroner’s office was dispatched to the scene around 4:02 a.m.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Both northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed while authorities investigated and have since reopened as of 8 a.m. Sunday.
