1 Dead in Douglas County Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 25 near Happy Canyon Road

DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO (May 18, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a 31-year-old man died in a brutal 3-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Happy Canyon Road.

The incident occurred just after 1:20 p.m. on northbound Interstate 25 at milepost 187, just between Happy Canyon Road and Castle Pines Parkway.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, three vehicles were involved in the crash.

A 31-year-old man from Aurora was pronounced dead at the scene. A 58-year-old woman from Castle Pines was taken to a hospital with injuries that have not been disclosed.

The northbound lanes between Happy Canyon Road and Castle Pines Parkway were temporarily closed during the investigation but have since reopened.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
