1 Dead in Rancho Cordova Auto Accident on Prairie City Road and White Rock Road

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (August 7, 2025) – Tuesday afternoon, a brutal head-on crash on Prairie City Road and White Rock Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Prairie City Road and White Rock Road.

CHP said a man driving a Hyundai Elantra north on Grant Line Road, with a boy in the passenger seat, collided head-on with a southbound Subaru Impreza.

The Hyundai driver died at the scene. The boy and the Subaru driver were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It’s not yet known if drugs or alcohol were involved.
