PHELAN, CA (February 12, 2026) – Tuesday night, a person died in a brutal pedestrian crash on Highway 138 and Sheep Canyon Road.

The incident happened at around 8:10 p.m. on the westbound side of Highway 138 and the Sheep Canyon Road offramp, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

A witness at the scene told officials it appeared the pedestrian ran in front of a Ford Fusion.

All westbound lanes were closed while authorities conducted their investigation.

No additional details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages.
