1 Dead in Tucson Pedestrian Accident on Snyder Road and Sabino Canyon Road

TUCSON, AZ (May 12, 2026) – Last May 7, Mikhail Stepanov died in a brutal pedestrian crash on Snyder Road and Sabino Canyon Road.

The incident happened near Snyder Road and Sabino Canyon Road, which was closed for several hours.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said a preliminary investigation found that 51-year-old Mikhail Stepanov was waiting to cross in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Stepanov later died at the hospital.

Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Detectives do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
