1 Dead in Ventura County Auto Accident on Fairview Road near Camp Ramah Road

VENTURA COUNTY, CA (December 21, 2025) – Thursday morning, a driver died in a brutal rollover crash on Fairview Road near Camp Ramah Road.

The incident happened at 12:45 a.m. on Fairview Road near Camp Ramah Road in Meiners Oaks, northwest of the Ojai city limits.

A Ford Explorer was traveling west on Fairview Road near Camp Ramah Road when the driver failed to negotiate a left turn, crashed into a fence, and rolled down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers found the SUV at the bottom of the embankment with three people inside. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Ventura County Fire Department personnel.

One passenger was taken to a hospital with major injuries, while the other passenger sustained minor injuries. CHP said all three occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Authorities said it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role. The crash remains under investigation.
