1 Dead in Irwindale Auto Accident on 210 Freeway and Irwindale Avenue

IRWINDALE, CA (June 21, 2026) – Saturday morning, a person died in a brutal semi-truck crash on 210 Freeway and Irwindale Avenue.

The incident happened at around 9:00 a.m. on 210 Freeway, just south of Irwindale Avenue on-ramp.

The truck crashed through a wall from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes, striking at least two other vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Firefighters and paramedics arrived at 8:57 a.m. and pronounced one woman dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Officials said two people were critically injured and transported to a hospital, along with eight others who sustained minor injuries. Six of those with minor injuries were children. Twenty-two additional people declined medical transport, according to fire officials.

Irwindale police closed the Irwindale Avenue on-ramp to the westbound freeway at 9:07 a.m. A SigAlert was issued at 9:14 a.m., shutting down the westbound freeway between Irwindale Avenue and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway for an undetermined duration. On the eastbound side, the carpool lane and two left lanes were blocked.
