1 Dead in Hayward Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 880 and A Street

 
HAYWARD, CA (November 22, 2022) – Monday night, a person died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 880 and A Street.
 
The incident happened at about 6:35 p.m. in the Interstate 880 lanes, north of the roadway’s A Street exit.
 
When the authorities arrived, they found a rider with injuries in the northbound roadway’s slow lane, south of Winton Avenue. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist died at the scene.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation revealed that the collision involved four vehicles on an auxiliary roadway underneath the freeway.
 
The crash began when the motorcyclist clipped another vehicle. Then, it collided with it before rear-ending a second vehicle, ejecting him.
 
At 6:54 p.m., the CHP issued a Sig-alert which closed the right-most lane and an off-ramp due to the collision. Also, they closed the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes at 7:15 p.m., reopening the nearby ramp.
 
Just after 9:00 p.m., all lanes reopened and the alert was lifted just before 9:15 p.m.
 
Furthermore, they urged anyone with information for investigators to contact CHP’s Hayward office at 510-489-1500.
