1 Dead in Tucson Multi-Vehicle Accident on Oracle Road and Eagle Crest Drive

TUCSON, AZ (October 7, 2025) – Saturday, a person died in a devastating 3-vehicle crash on Oracle Road and Eagle Crest Drive.

The incident involving three vehicles happened when a vehicle ran a red light on Oracle Road and Eagle Crest Drive, just north of Catalina.

The Department of Public Safety said a vehicle crashed into another car, pushing it into a pickup truck. The driver of the first car that was hit died at the scene, while the driver who caused the crash was arrested on a manslaughter charge.

According to a Facebook post by Cody’s Friends, the woman who was killed was one of its volunteers.

“We are deeply saddened by the news that Sandy M. was tragically killed in a car accident on Saturday,” the nonprofit wrote. “Sandy single-handedly protected the paws of hundreds of pups in Tucson for many years with her durable handmade booties she made and donated to Cody’s Friends almost every week for us to give out.”

Her family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cody’s Friends or to an animal- or music-based charity.

The intersection of Oracle and Eagle Crest was closed from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday as police investigated.
