1 Dead in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 and Westside Boulevard

FRESNO, CA (August 31, 2025) – Saturday morning, a man died in a devastating hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 and Westside Boulevard.

The incident happened at about 12:25 a.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Highway 99, south of Westside Boulevard.

A 34-year-old man was struck and killed while walking on Highway 99, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded quickly and found the man lying in the roadway. They attempted life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP said the man was walking on the highway for unknown reasons when he was hit by a northbound vehicle. The driver did not stop and continued traveling north.

Investigators are still working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
