AUSTIN, TX (February 13, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, a person died in a devastating traffic crash near McKenzie Road killed 1 person.

Reports said that the incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. near McKenzie Road in southeast Austin.

Multiple patients were initially evaluated at the scene, with STAR Flight medical helicopter called to assist.

Paramedics attempted to revive an adult victim, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several others suffered minor injuries, according to ATCEMS.

The Texas Department of Transportation confirmed that all lanes of Highway 183 at FM 1625 were shut down following the crash.
