1 Person Killed in Devastating Vehicle Crash on Highway 113

1 Dead in Woodland Auto Accident on Highway 113 and East Main Street

WOODLAND, CA (April 29, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a person died in a devastating vehicle crash on Highway 113 and East Mountain Street.

The incident happened at about 9:25 a.m. on northbound Highway 113 and East Main Street.

The California Highway Patrol said early findings indicate a Toyota was traveling north on Highway 113 near East Main Street when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle by moving into the center median.

Authorities said the driver lost control, crossed into the southbound lanes, then went off the roadway and down an embankment. The impact ejected the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt.

A passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries. The driver’s identity has not been released.

Investigators said it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol played a role. The roadway was temporarily closed while crews worked the scene, but has since reopened.

Initial logs listed the crash on Interstate 5, but CHP later clarified it occurred on Highway 113. Anyone with information is asked to call CHP at 530-702-6250.
