1 Dead in Stoddard County Auto Accident on Highway Y and Highway N

STODDARD COUNTY, MO (August 3, 2026) – Saturday afternoon, a 53-year-old woman died in a horrific 2-vehicle crash on Highway Y and Highway N.

The incident involving two vehicles happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Highway Y and Highway N, just 4 miles south of Bell City.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, one woman was killed, and eight other people were injured in the two-vehicle crash.

Troopers said a passenger car traveling northbound failed to yield to a sport utility vehicle. The SUV struck the side of the car, causing it to overturn. During the rollover, one occupant was partially ejected.

A 53-year-old woman from Benton, Missouri, died at the scene.

Three other occupants of the passenger car were injured. A 60-year-old woman from Brownwood and a juvenile were transported to a local hospital, while the 61-year-old male driver from Benton was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital with serious injuries. The passenger car was totaled.

Five occupants of the SUV, including three juveniles, were also injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The SUV sustained extensive damage.
