Man Killed in Horrific Bicycle Crash on Fanuel Street

1 Dead in San Diego Bicycle Accident on Fanuel Street and Grand Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 12, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a man died in a horrific bicycle crash on Fanuel Street and Grand Avenue.

The incident happened at about 1:00 a.m. when a bicyclist traveled into the path of a 33-year-old man driving a westbound Hyundai Elantra, near the intersection of Fanuel Street and Grand Avenue, against a red light, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities had not released the person’s name or age.

Officials said alcohol was not considered a factor.
