Woman Killed in Horrific Pedestrian Crash on Cleo Street

1 Dead in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Cleo Street near College East

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 23, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a 99-year-old woman died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Cleo Street near College East.

The incident happened at about 8:00 a.m. when the woman was said to be walking east on Cleo Street in the East College community.

Police said a 49-year-old woman was driving a silver 2022 Chevrolet Equinox westbound on Cleo Street when the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The victim suffered multiple fractures to both arms and a lower leg. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators said DUI was not a factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
