ST LOUIS, MO (February 9, 2025) – Saturday morning, a man died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 44 near Walnut Street.

The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 44 near the Walnut Street exit.

The incident caused traffic closures on the interstate.

According to a preliminary investigation, police say a man jumped from a bridge onto I-44 before he died. An accident reconstruction team with SLMPD assessed the scene.
