DALHART, TX (August 6, 2026) – Wednesday afternoon, a person died in a brutal 2-vehicle crash on US 385.
The incident involving two vehicles occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on US 385, just north of Dalhart.
According to a preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a crash involving a truck tractor and a cement truck closed U.S. Highway 385 in both directions.
Authorities diverted traffic to State Spur 17 and State Spur 24 while crews responded to the scene and investigated the crash.
