Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Val Vista Drive in Gilbert

Gilbert, AZ (January 17, 2025) – One person died and one injured in a crash on Val Vista Drive.

Reportedly, a vehicle hit and killed one person in the parking lot of a VA clinic in Gilbert late Friday morning. 

Gilbert police officers and fire crews responded to the Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad Veterans Affairs Health Care Clinic at Val Vista Drive and Pecos Road around 11:15 a.m. 

According to police, two people were walking in the parking lot when one fell and got run over. 

Authorities pronounced the person dead at the scene. The second pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, but how the person was injured remains unclear. 

Investigators stated that the driver remained at the scene. Aerial footage shows officers focusing on a pickup truck while a section of the parking lot was taped off. 

A VA spokesperson confirmed that the victim was a veteran, offering condolences and referring further inquiries to the Gilbert Police Department due to the ongoing investigation.
