Fowler, CA (January 18, 2026) – One person died after a deadly crash on Clovis Avenue involving a pickup truck and a commercial big rig on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities received reports of the crash just before 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Clovis Avenue near Highway 99.

Investigators said a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck collided with a big rig hauling tomatoes as the commercial driver attempted to make either a left turn or a U-turn onto Golden State Boulevard.

Following the impact, the pickup became lodged beneath the trailer. CHP officials stated the big rig continued moving for a short distance with the pickup underneath before pulling over.

A fire broke out as a result of the collision, and the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
