Police Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash on Hayes Avenue in Fresno

Fresno County, CA (May 22, 2025) – One person died and others sustained injuries in a head-on crash on Hayes Avenue early Thursday morning.

Officials responded to the scene at Hayes and Huntsman Avenues shortly after 5 a.m. following reports of a collision.

According to investigators, a 20-year-old man was driving a GMC southbound on Hayes Avenue when he veered into the northbound lane and struck a Toyota Camry. 

The GMC driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene of the crash.

Emergency crews transported the occupants of the Camry to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment for their injuries. 

Authorities suspect the GMC driver may have suffered a medical emergency just before the crash occurred.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
