GILBERT, AZ (April 29, 2025) – Monday afternoon, a person died in a horrific auto accident near Gilbert Road and Baseline Road.

The incident happened at about 1:00 p.m. near Gilbert Road and Baseline Road.

Details surrounding the events leading up to the crash remained limited. However, officers believed one driver was turning left onto Gilbert Road while exiting a nearby business when the collision occurred.

That driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead shortly afterward. No other injuries were reported.

Gilbert Road was closed in both directions between Baseline Road and Ash Street but reopened around 4 p.m.
