1 Dead in Tracy Auto Accident on State Route 4 and Tracy Boulevard

TRACY, CA (January 9, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a person died in a horrific DUI crash on State Route 4 and Tracy Boulevard.

The incident occurred at about 12:33 a.m. on State Route 4, west of Tracy Boulevard.

A westbound pickup truck crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an SUV, according to CHP.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the pickup truck driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The roadway was temporarily closed for investigation and cleanup but was fully reopened by 2:46 a.m., CHP reported.
