1 Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 43 near Cecil Avenue 

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 3, 2025) – Saturday night, a person died in a horrific head-on crash on Highway 43 near Cecil Avenue.

The incident happened at about 10:55 p.m. on Highway 43, just north of Cecil Avenue near Delano.

CHP reported a head-on collision between a white Nissan and a white Tesla on Highway 43, just north of Cecil Avenue near Delano.

The Nissan caught fire in the middle of the roadway.

Officials confirmed that the driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tesla driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Kern Medical.

Northbound lanes of Highway 43 were temporarily closed.

The crash remains under investigation, and it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved.
