1 Dead in Grapevine Kayak Crash at Grapevine Lake

GRAPEVINE, TX (May 26, 2025) – Sunday night, a person died in a horrific kayak accident at Grapevine Lake.

The incident happened at 5:20 p.m. at Grapevine Lake closest to Oak Grove Park.

According to reports, a person in a kayak was struck by a jet ski.

The Grapevine Fire Department and Texas Game Wardens came to the scene.

Marine and land-based authorities responded to an area of Grapevine Lake closest to Oak Grove Park, where they found out that a person in a kayak was hit by a jet ski. 

Responders pulled the person to shore. Officers noted that the victim suffered severe trauma. Thus, responders administered a series of advanced life support measures.

However, upon transporting to Baylor Grapevine, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers added that the victim has been turned over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Meanwhile, reports confirmed that the suspect who hit the victim fled the scene.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased.
