Gonzales, CA (May 30, 2025) – A crash on Highway 101 Friday afternoon left one person dead.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was heading south on Highway 101 when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Hartnell Road.

At that moment, a red pickup truck traveling north slammed into the back of the semi’s trailer and became lodged underneath.

CHP officers arrived at the scene and confirmed one fatality.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
