Woman Dies After Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (August 19, 2025) – On August 19, we reported a crash on Interstate 40 westbound at Eubank involving a female motorcyclist.

We have since confirmed through law enforcement that the motorcyclist involved in the collision has died from her injuries. 

The New Mexico State Police are actively investigating the incident. Although details remain limited, the agency released the following statement earlier today:

“On August 19, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., we responded to a motorcycle crash on I-40 westbound at Eubank. 

Emergency medical personnel arrived and transported a female rider to UNM Hospital. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries while en route.

Our preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2006 Honda motorcycle was traveling westbound on Interstate 40. 

For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle struck the impact zone at the start of the Jersey barrier near the Eubank off-ramp.

We are currently awaiting the Office of the Medical Investigator’s report to confirm the rider’s identity. This crash remains under active investigation.”
