COMMERCE CITY, CO (May 20, 2026)— A deadly five-vehicle crash on Highway 85 shut down both directions during the Wednesday morning commute.
According to the Commerce City Police Department, the crash closed northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 85 between 112th Avenue and 120th Avenue.
Authorities said the collision involved five vehicles. At least one person died in the crash, and several other drivers were transported to the hospital with injuries.
Scene reports indicated that at least one vehicle appeared to have rolled over.
