Police Investigate Fatal Crash Near NW HK Dodgen Loop in Temple

TEMPLE, TX (September 25, 2026)— One person died, and another suffered injuries Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near NW HK Dodgen Loop and Industrial Boulevard in Temple.

According to the Temple Police Department, officers responded to the intersection shortly before 1:30 p.m. on September 25, 2026, after receiving reports of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a box truck.

Police said their preliminary investigation indicates that the box truck was traveling eastbound while the passenger vehicle was traveling northbound when the two vehicles collided at the intersection.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash scene and transported one person from the box truck to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey pronounced another person dead at the scene.

Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the person who died or provide additional information about the injured individual.

The Temple Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities expected the area to remain blocked for several hours while investigators examined the scene.
