The collision happened at about 5:45 p.m. at 200th Street East and East Avenue G-8. CHP’s preliminary account, as reported by City News Service, said a southbound 2019 Dodge Challenger crossed into the northbound lanes. The 9-year-old boy was a passenger in the Honda. The 14-year-old girl was also in that vehicle. The driver of the Dodge, a 23-year-old Victorville man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to CHP information reported the following day. CHP said all occupants wore seat belts and investigators were examining whether they were worn properly.
The available July 2025 account was preliminary. No later investigative or court outcome was verified for this report.
