EVERSON, WA (March 31, 2021) – Monday morning, a person suffered injuries in a bicycle accident on Lindsay Road and Van Buren Road.
 
The authorities received a report of a crash at around 7:30 a.m. Thus, first responders came to the intersection of Lindsay Road and Van Buren Road.
 
Whatcom County Fire District 1 Division Chief Darren Branum revealed that responders transported 1 patient to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. The patient suffered non-life-threatening injuries under advanced life support protocol (ALS).
 
Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant stated that the bicycle crashed with a 2010 Lexus sedan. Meanwhile, the driver said that he didn’t see the rider due to the sun in his eyes at the time of the crash.
 
Meanwhile, investigators determined that the bicyclist was legally riding on the road during the crash.
 
Moreover, authorities issued an infraction against the Lexus driver for 2nd-degree negligent driving, Oliphant said.
