1 Dead in Noverd Auto Accident on Highway 160 near Antioch

NOVERD, CA (September 28, 2026) – Sunday morning, a person died and 2 were injured in a devastating car crash on Highway 160 near Antioch.

The incident happened at about 5:30 a.m. on Highway 160, north of Antioch.

CHP’s South Sacramento division said the Kia was traveling northbound when it crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a Ford F-250 hauling equipment.

The Kia driver was killed in the crash. The two people in the Ford were taken to a hospital with injuries, CHP said.

It was not immediately known whether drugs or alcohol were factors. CHP is investigating the crash.

State Route 160 was closed at Sherman Island Cross Road for several hours while authorities investigated. All lanes have since reopened.
