1 Person Killed in Brutal UTV Crash on US 60 and Route FF

1 Dead and 1 Injured in Stoddard County Auto Accident on US 60 and Route FF

STODDARD COUNTY, MO (May 3, 2026) – Saturday, a person died and another sustained injuries in a brutal UTV crash on US 60 and Route FF.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on US 60 and Route FF, about one mile north of Essex.

A 53-year-old man from Essex was driving a UTV northbound and failed to yield, colliding with an SUV driven westbound by a 75-year-old woman from Georgia.

The UTV driver was pronounced dead at 1:47 p.m. by the Stoddard County coroner. The woman was taken by ambulance to a medical center in Cape Girardeau.

Troopers said the man was not wearing a seatbelt, while the woman was. Authorities added that the westbound lanes were temporarily blocked but have since reopened.
