Police Investigate Fatal Food Truck Crash on 10 Freeway in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – A fiery early morning crash on 10 Freeway in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles left one man dead and another injured on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:17 a.m. near Arlington Avenue. 

Authorities confirmed that the incident involved a food truck and a passenger vehicle. 

The driver of the car, identified only as a 40-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in fair condition. It is unclear whether he was in the food truck or the other vehicle.

The impact of the crash triggered a fire, which engulfed both vehicles and left them charred along the side of the freeway. 

Firefighters quickly responded to extinguish the blaze. As of 5:40 a.m., the three rightmost lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway and the Arlington Avenue off-ramp remained closed while cleanup crews and investigators worked at the scene.

No additional details about the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved have been released. 

The investigation is ongoing.
