DENVER, CO (March 19, 2026) – Wednesday morning, a person died in a horrific fiery crash on US 85 and 136th Avenue.
The incident happened on US 85 and 136th Avenue.
Brighton Fire Rescue responded to reports of a grass fire in the area.
Crews found the fire had started after a vehicle caught fire when it crashed into a pole.
Police said one person died in the crash. The intersection was closed as officers investigated.
Drivers were advised to use alternate routes, including Interstate 76, as the road was expected to remain closed for several hours Wednesday morning.
