10-Year-Old Male Passenger Injured in I-44 Vehicle Crash [Pulaski County, MO]

Pulaski County, MO (April 8, 2026) – A 10-year-old male passenger sustained injuries following an I-44 vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

It was past 2 p.m. when the two-vehicle crash happened in Waynesville.

Officers said a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was merging onto the freeway when it struck an eastbound 2022 Volvo VNL.

The impact sent both vehicles off the left side of the roadway and both hit median cables.

The Chevy driver, a 49-year-old man, and his passengers, a 39-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, all from St. Louis, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Troopers said the driver and the female passenger were seriously injured, while the boy sustained unknown injuries.

MSHP said none of the Chevy occupants were wearing seatbelts during the crash.
