SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (August 12, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a disastrous bus crash on 5 Freeway near Encinitas sent 12 people to the hospital.

The incident involving a bus loaded with passengers and a semi-truck happened at around 5:24 p.m. on the 5 Freeway near Encinitas, near the San Elijo viewpoint.
