Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 44 in Redding Leaves Minor Injuries

Redding, CA (July 11, 2026) — A two-vehicle collision on Highway 44 caused traffic delays and left at least one person with minor injuries Wednesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 2:08 p.m. on eastbound Highway 44 near Interstate 5. Investigators said one vehicle slowed or stopped because of a large object in the roadway before another vehicle struck it from behind.

Authorities requested tow trucks to remove both damaged vehicles from the scene. The collision temporarily slowed traffic as emergency crews responded.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.

Keep Our Highways Safe

Traffic collisions can happen anytime, but their impact lasts a lifetime. Stay alert, avoid distractions, and never drive under the influence. Always wear your seatbelt, obey speed limits, and be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists. Keep a safe distance between vehicles and adjust your speed for road conditions.

Even minor crashes can result in injuries and unexpected expenses. Drivers should maintain a safe following distance and stay alert for road hazards that may require sudden stops. Practicing defensive driving can help prevent rear-end collisions and keep everyone safer on the road.

Life After a Traffic Accident

The truth is, a crash doesn’t end when the wreckage is cleared away. For many, it’s just the beginning of a long and difficult road to recovery. Injuries can range from minor bruises to life-changing trauma, and the emotional toll can be just as heavy — stress, anxiety, or even the fear of driving again. Add medical bills, lost wages, and other financial worries, and it can all feel overwhelming.

If you’ve been in an accident, knowing your rights matters. You deserve to focus on your healing — not the paperwork and legal headaches. That’s where Sweet Lawyers comes in. Our team is here to handle the tough parts so you can focus on getting better and rebuilding your life.
